Young Samuel was a servant of the Lord under Eli.
One night the Lord called Samuel, and he is prompted by Eli to respond,
“Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.”
We pray, asking God to help us with heavenly care,
that we may see and gain strength to do what is right.
And when God calls us we may to respond, “Here am I, Lord; I come to do your will.”
